Nature of Business
Singapore Refining Company was founded in 11th January 1979. It is a joint venture between Singapore Petroleum Company, and (Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd & Chevron Trading Pte Ltd). The company is the first joint processing refinery in this region and is located on Palau Merlimau, Jurong Island.
In 1994, SRC was the first oil refinery in ASEAN to be certified ISO 9001:2000 compliant for the whole of its manufacturing process. Recently, it has also been awarded the ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system.
The refinery has three Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) complexes with a total capacity of 290
MBSD. The CDUs are supported by various downstream conversion such as
- Catalytic reformer complex
- Hydrocracker complex
- Residue catalytic cracker complex, which includes an alkylation unit and MTBE production facilities
- Visbreaker
Products from SRC include liquefied petroleum gas, propylene, butane, chemical naphtha, motor gasoline, kerosene, jet fuel, diesel, low sulphur fuel oil, bunker fuel oil, asphalt and sulphur.
