ASPRI-IPI supports professional development with 2 unique PCP courses for PMETs
To help attract PMETs and mid-career switchers to the Process Sector, ASPRI-IPI has developed and introduced two unique 40-hour Professional Conversion Programmes (PCP) that are mapped in accordance with the Singapore SkillsFuture (SSG) Engineering Services skills framework.
They are the Field Supervisor Foundation Fundamental (FSFF) and Engineers & Managers Foundation Fundamental (EMFF) offered under the Place-and-Train mode. Successful candidates will be awarded four Statements of Attainment
ISO 29993: 2017
certification
On 21 July 2020, the independent Certification Body for ISO 29993: 2017 granted certification to six ASPRI-IPI courses. It is specifically for “learning services outside formal education”, including all types of life-long learning (e.g. vocational training and in-company training, either outsourced or in-house).
ASPRI-IPI has successfully undergone the Survillance audit on ISO 29993:2017, conducted by SOCOTEC Certification Singapore, on 12 July 2021. In addition to the 6 courses certified in Jul 2020, five new courses were certified. No non- conformities and observation was raised during both certification and surveillance audits.
The eleven ISO 29993:2017 certifed courses are:
1. Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites
2. Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Metal Work
3. Perform Rigger and Signalman Tasks
4. Supervise Safe Lifting Operations
5. Supervise Construction Work for WSH
6. Supervise WSH in Manufacturing Industry
for Staff Management, Resource Management, Continuous Improvement Management and Hazard & Risk identification and Management.
ASPRI has been administering Professional Conversion Programmes (PCP) aimed at Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs), including mid-career switchers, who wish to be equipped with the relevant skills to join the PCM sector. Under the programmes, participating companies will employ the trainees before they commence the PCP. The six-month PCP includes facilitated classroom training by ASPRI-IPI and structured On-the-Job training by the employers.

ISO 29993: 2017 requires the learning to be face-to-face, mediated by technology, or a blend of both.

In its continuous effort to be a premier industry-recognised training centre, ASPRI-IPI intends to achieve ISO 29993: 2017 certification for another 20 courses, including all WSQ Process Skill courses.
